Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Nursery Manager to oversee daily operations within a vibrant early childhood education setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong management and leadership skills, with a passion for working with children and supporting their developmental needs. This role offers an opportunity to lead a team of childcare professionals, ensure high standards of care, and foster a safe, nurturing environment for young learners. Applicants should have relevant nursery experience and a background in early childhood education, combined with excellent communication skills in English.
Duties
- Manage the daily running of the nursery, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and organisational policies
- Lead, motivate, and supervise nursery staff to deliver high-quality childcare and early education programmes
- Develop and implement engaging activities that support children’s developmental milestones and learning objectives
- Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding their child's progress and well-being
- Oversee the organisation of staff rotas, training schedules, and performance appraisals
- Ensure health and safety standards are upheld at all times, including risk assessments and cleanliness protocols
- Manage administrative tasks such as record keeping, budgeting, and resource procurement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care provided within the nursery
Skills
- Proven management and leadership experience within a childcare or nursery setting
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and childcare best practices
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively with children, parents, and team members in a professional manner
- Childcare qualifications recognised within the UK (e.g., NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent)
- Experience working with children across different age groups within a nursery environment
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting resources or attending external meetings as required
- Organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent safeguarding knowledge

Pay: £14.50-£15.00 per hour
