Express Recruitment are proud to be supporting a well-established Engineering Solutions Specialist with the recruitment of a Project Engineer on a full-time, permanent basis, working across the Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and surrounding areas.
Our client delivers mechanical and electrical engineering projects across the utilities and infrastructure sectors and is looking to appoint an experienced Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of site-based installation, maintenance, and refurbishment works.
The successful candidate will be offered a salary of up to £50,000 plus either a company car or car allowance, working Monday – Friday 8am-4:30pm.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Project Engineer looking to join a growing business offering long-term progression, varied project work.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage mechanical and electrical installation and maintenance projects from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover
- Scope works with clients on-site and provide technical support on refurbishment and replacement projects
- Attend site visits, design meetings, and technical review meetings with clients and subcontractors
- Manage project budgets, resources, programmes, and subcontractors
- Produce and review HSEQ documentation including RAMS and commissioning plans
- Oversee installation and commissioning activities on-site
- Ensure all project documentation and as-built records are completed accurately
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working as a Mechanical Project Engineer
- HNC/HND or NVQ Level 3 in Engineering
- Valid CSCS Gold Card
- SMSTS qualification
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical project delivery
- Experience managing site-based installation and commissioning activities
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel across regional sites
- Additional NVQ qualifications within the core discipline desirable
