Job description:
I'm looking for a dedicated, passionate, and energetic support worker to assist me in my own home in the community. I have complex needs, which means I need support to live in my own home, regulate my emotions and behaviour and live my life as it should.
All shifts will be on-site at my home, where you’ll join me in my activities. I need someone who can provide personalised support to help me manage my emotions and engage in activities that meet my sensory diet needs, which is important for my mental health and well-being.
Consistency is really important to me, so I’m looking for someone who can help me feel safe and well-regulated, especially when I’m feeling anxious or agitated.
I need support from enthusiastic and encouraging individuals to keep me engaged in meaningful, fun activities. These could include going to the gym, farm trips, bowling, cinema trips, swimming, visiting the pub, long walks, and going further afield. Be creative, I am open to new ideas and activities!
I would like to build on my life skills. I will need help and encouragement to increase my independence.

- Hours: Monday – Sunday, 7am-3pm and 3pm-10pm, 10pm-7am sleep in as well as 8am-8pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Personalised Support: Assist with managing my emotions and engaging in activities that meet sensory diet needs.
- Ensure Consistency: Offer consistent care to help the client feel safe, well-regulated, and reduce anxiety and agitation.
- On-Site and Community Support: All shifts will take place in my home or in the community during activities.
- Promote Well-being: Support the client's overall mental health and well-being through consistent and compassionate care.
- Interaction and Engagement: Support the client with consistent and meaningful interactions
What I am looking for:
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work with individuals requiring support
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and understanding in challenging situations
- Experience preferred, but all training and (paid) shadowing will be provided
