Warehouse / Forklift Operative
Location: Widnes, Cheshire (WA8 0SJ)
Salary: Up to £18.00 per hour (PAYE)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (8-hour standard day)
30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks (unpaid)
Start Date: ASAP
Multi Trades Recruitment is acting on behalf of our client to recruit an experienced Warehouse / Forklift Operative to join their busy warehouse team in Widnes. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business involved in the handling and distribution of modular building products across the UK, with the potential for overtime and weekend work as business demands.
About the Role
Working within a small warehouse team, you will be responsible for safely receiving, moving, organising and loading a wide range of construction products, including aluminium extrusions, galvanised steel components, roofing materials and modular building products. You will play a key role in preparing customer orders and loading shipping containers for delivery to sites across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Combilift C2500 Multi-Directional Forklift safely and efficiently.
- Operate a Merlo P120 Rough Terrain Telescopic Handler where required.
- Receive and unload deliveries, checking goods against delivery documentation.
- Pick, collate and pack materials ready for dispatch.
- Load and unload shipping containers and flatbed vehicles.
- Move stock safely around the warehouse.
- Use a tablet to complete goods in/out processes (full training provided).
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure daily operational targets are achieved.
Requirements
- Previous warehouse experience.
- Valid Combilift C2500 Multi-Directional Forklift certificate (essential).
- Merlo P120 Rough Terrain Telehandler certificate desirable (can be worked around if required).
- Basic IT skills and confidence using tablets.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Own safety boots and suitable work clothing.
- Reliable with a positive work ethic and excellent attention to detail.
