Primary SEN Teaching Assistant Rossendale Area
We are seeking two experienced Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team, focusing on providing targeted support to children with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This role is crucial in supporting not only children with EHCPs but also those with a range of complex needs including ADHD, ASD, and SLCN.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide 1:1 support to children with various SEND, ensuring their educational and emotional needs are met.
- Work with children who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) to facilitate a supportive learning environment.
- Support children with specific conditions such as ADHD, PDA, ASD, and EBSA, adapting approaches to meet their unique needs.
- Assist children with Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN), including non-verbal children, to enhance their communication skills.
- Implement and record interventions as outlined in EHCPs and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Engage with pupils during a 30-minute segment of the 1-hour lunchtime, either by supervising or running a lunchtime club or intervention.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in providing 1:1 support for children with SEND.
- Experience working with children who have experienced ACEs.
- Familiarity with conditions such as ADHD, PDA, ASD, and EBSA.
- Capability to support children with SLCN, including non-verbal communication.
- Experience working with EHCPs and IEPs, including delivering and documenting interventions.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs within the school environment.
- Strong commitment to enhancing the educational experience of children with significant needs.
