The Senior Software Engineer is a high-impact individual contributor who delivers complex work and raises the effectiveness of the team around them.
This role exists to tackle technically challenging problems, support less-experienced engineers, and contribute to sound technical decisions — all while remaining aligned with the agreed architecture and standards.
Key responsibilities
Technical delivery
Design and implement complex features and improvements
Take ownership of technically significant or high-risk work
Ensure solutions are maintainable, testable, and well understood
Help diagnose and resolve complex production issues
Technical leadership (within the team)
Provide guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level engineers
Contribute strongly to code reviews and design discussions
Support the Engineering Tech Lead in maintaining technical quality
Identify technical risks and raise them early
Collaboration and quality
Work closely with QA to ensure confidence in delivered changes
Engage constructively with Product and other stakeholders as needed
Balance pragmatism with long-term thinking
What this role is not
This is not a formal people management role
This is not ownership of cross-team architecture
This is not a substitute for a Tech Lead or Principal Engineer

Experience and capabilities
Strong experience as a software engineer in a production SaaS environment
Proven ability to deliver complex, high-quality solutions
Strong understanding of testing, performance, and maintainability
Ability to mentor others and influence through example
Sound technical judgement under pressure
