Summary
Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) PE & School Sport (15 hours per week)
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support the delivery of high-quality Physical Education, school sport and physical activity across our primary school.
This role is offered on a part-time basis of 15 hours per week, with the potential to extend into a full-time position through a split role. The remaining hours would be fulfilled through a Teaching Assistant (Level 2b) position, providing valuable support for teaching and learning across the school. This offers an excellent opportunity for a candidate looking for a varied and impactful role within a supportive and dynamic school environment.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging PE lessons, lunchtime sports provision and after-school clubs that promote participation, enjoyment and healthy lifestyles for all pupils.
This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro rata basis.

Essential Qualifications
- Recognised and relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent
- Level 2 or equivalent qualification in
- English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy

- NVQ level 4 qualification or equivalent

- Experience of working with children.
- Experience within a school setting.
- Experience delivering PE, sport and/or physical activity.
- Ability to deliver engaging and inclusive activities for primary-aged pupils.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable Experience
- Sports coaching qualifications (minimum Level 2 or equivalent).
- AfPE Level 5 qualification.
- Knowledge of the Lancashire PE Scheme of Work.
- Experience using PE Passport.
- HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
Experience organising extracurricular sports clubs or competitions.
