About Us
Pharmica is one of the UK’s leading online pharmacies, setting the standard in accessible, efficient healthcare. Our innovative approach drives everything we do, from leveraging cutting-edge technology to delivering exceptional customer service. We’re transforming the pharmacy experience to make healthcare more convenient and impactful, ensuring positive outcomes for our customers.
About the Role
This is not a standard junior digital growth role. We are looking for a bright, analytical, careful person who wants to become an expert in paid media, and we will train you to get there. You will be mentored directly by the person who runs our paid accounts, learning from real campaigns from day one within a structured 12-month development plan.
You will start with small, supervised slices of activity and earn responsibility as you prove your judgment. The destination is clear, and we are honest about it: this role is designed to grow into our Senior PPC Specialist position, eventually helping to manage paid advertising across a budget of more than £10 million per year.
Because we are an open and visible team, you will work alongside our senior leadership regularly, not from a distance. You will present your work and your ideas directly to the people who make the decisions, and the best ideas genuinely get backed wherever they come from. It is an unusual level of exposure for someone early in their career.
Because we are a pharmacy, our advertising operates in a regulated environment. That is a feature, not a burden: it means we value people who read the rules, think before they act, and take pride in getting things right. If you are the kind of person who finds it satisfying to do something carefully and correctly, you will thrive here.
Key Responsibilities
Over your first year, with direct mentoring, you will learn to and increasingly take ownership of the following:
- Paid search fundamentals: keyword research, match types, negative keywords, quality score and ad rank
- Building and optimising campaigns across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) Ads
- Writing clear, compelling, compliant ad copy quickly
- Using automated bidding strategies sensibly
- Working in Google Analytics and reading the metrics that actually matter: CAC, customer lifetime value (CLTV) and retention
- Applying healthcare advertising compliance: the platform certifications and the UK rules that govern how a pharmacy can and cannot advertise
- Presenting performance and proposing improvements directly to senior leadership
Wider Growth Exposure ( A Genuine Perk of the Role! )
Paid media is your craft and your anchor, the thing you will become genuinely expert in. But you will not be working in a silo. As you find your feet, you will get exposure to the broader growth function and see how the pieces fit together:
- SEO and organic search, the natural twin of paid search (you will learn this with support from the team)
- Conversion rate optimisation and landing-page testing
- Retention, email and lifecycle marketing are central to a pharmacy where repeat custom is everything
- New product and service launches, and how paid media supports them
And we genuinely want your ideas. As you grow, we want you to propose and run your own growth experiments, not just execute someone else’s plan.
Key Skills
You do not need PPC experience. You do need most of the following:
- Strong numeracy and genuine comfort with data and spreadsheets; you like working things out from numbers
- Care and conscientiousness: you check before you act, and you would rather ask than guess on something important
- An exceptionally high standard of written English
- Curiosity and self-motivation: you enjoy learning and you follow through
- Clear, honest communication and a collaborative attitude
- Confidence to share ideas with senior colleagues, and the good sense to know when to ask first
- A degree or equivalent in any subject (numerate, scientific or pharmacy-adjacent backgrounds are a plus, but a sharp mind matters more than the subject)
Desirable but not Essential
- Any hands-on exposure to Google Ads, Analytics or running ads for a side project, society or small business
- Google Skillshop certifications (we will help you get these regardless)
- Any interest in or exposure to healthcare, science or regulated industries
Why This Beats a Standard Graduate Job
- One-to-one mentoring from an expert who runs the accounts, not a slide deck
- Regular, direct contact with senior leadership in a small, visible team
- Real responsibility, fast but safe: you work on live campaigns, not sandboxes
- A defined, honest path to a senior, well-paid specialism in a skill that is in constant demand
- Room to broaden: exposure to SEO, CRO, retention and new launches, and a real invitation to bring your own growth ideas
