Social Worker – Children & Families Team
Location: Dumfries / Kirkcudbright (Dumfries & Galloway)
Pay Rate: £40 – £42 per hour + £100 per week accommodation allowance
Contract Type: Temporary
Seven Resourcing are currently recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to join a Children & Families Team across Dumfries and Kirkcudbright. This role involves supporting children, young people, and families through assessment, intervention, and safeguarding work to ensure positive outcomes and child wellbeing.
The successful candidate will work within a supportive, multi-disciplinary environment, managing a varied caseload and contributing to high-quality social care practice across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake assessments of children and families in line with statutory requirements
- Manage a caseload of children in need, child protection, and looked after children cases
- Develop and implement care plans to improve outcomes for children and families
- Undertake safeguarding investigations and contribute to protection planning
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies including health, education, and police
- Attend and contribute to case conferences, reviews, and court proceedings where required
- Maintain accurate, timely case records in accordance with local authority standards
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with SSSC registration (or eligibility to register)
- Experience working within Children & Families or child protection teams
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation and safeguarding frameworks
- Ability to manage complex caseloads and make sound professional judgments
- Excellent communication and report writing skills
