Baldwin Transport Ltd are a busy, expanding haulage company who are looking for a competent counterbalance forklift driver that can work on their own initiative in a busy and fast paced environment . This job does entail working outside in an open yard loading and offloading vehicles and trailers. Duties also include keeping the yard and trailers clean and clear at all times and maintaining Health and Safety standards.
Job Description: Forklift Operator and Yardperson, 10:00 - 20:00, Monday to Friday
Duties:
- Operate forklifts to load, unload, and move pallets within the production area
- Safely and efficiently transport materials to designated locations using forklift equipment
- Stack and organize products and pallets in designated storage areas
- Perform routine daily maintenance checks on forklifts and report any issues or malfunctions
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Assist with inventory management by accurately recording pallet held overs
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a busy environment
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and guidelines related to forklift operation
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness skills
- Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects as required
