We have excellent opportunity to join a long established foundry in Stockton on Tees.
We are currently looking for an experienced furnaceman to be placed on permanent night shift, to help keep up with growing business demands, and join our current team manufacturing high integrity complex castings, including large diesel engine components, compressors and pumps.
Tasks:
- Melting Operations: Operating and Firing up high temperature cor-less induction furnace to melt iron, .
- Quality Control: Adjust materials and monitor temperatures to ensure exact metallurgical specifications.
- Pouring & Casting: Transporting, transferring, and pouring the liquid metal into sand molds for casting.
- Safety & Maintenance: Following strict safety protocols using heavy PPE, maintaining equipment ,cleaning furnace areas.
The role of a furnaceman involves several critical and physically demanding duties which require stamina . To have an understanding of metallurgy, and a need to pay strict attention to safety, as working with extreme temperatures involves significant hazards.
