Oakbridge Little Learners is a warm, family-run nursery in Burntwood, Staffordshire. We pride ourselves on providing a nurturing, supportive environment where children feel safe, valued and inspired to learn.
Our experienced team has over 30 years of combined experience in early years education, and we are passionate about helping children develop confidence, independence and a love of learning through play.
Due to continued growth and increasing occupancy, we are looking for enthusiastic and reliable Bank Nursery Practitioners to join our team and provide flexible cover for staff holidays, training, sickness and busy periods.
This role is ideal for someone looking for flexible working hours whilst still being part of a supportive and friendly nursery team.
About the Role
As a Bank Nursery Practitioner, you will support our team across the nursery, helping to provide high-quality care and education for children aged 0-5 years.
Hours are offered on an as-needed basis and may vary from week to week. Wherever possible, notice of shifts will be provided in advance.
The nursery is open between 7:30am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, 51 weeks of the year.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and education in line with the EYFS Framework
- Support children's learning and development through play-based activities
- Build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Assist with daily routines including meals, sleep times, toileting and outdoor play
- Ensure children's safety and wellbeing at all times
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Support observations and learning records where required
- Follow nursery policies, safeguarding procedures and health and safety requirements
Essential Requirements
- Full and relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years Qualification
- Experience working within an early years or childcare setting
- Good understanding of the EYFS Framework
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable and flexible approach to work
- Genuine passion for supporting children's development
Desirable Qualifications
The following qualifications are preferred but not essential:
- Paediatric First Aid Certificate
- Safeguarding Training
- Food Hygiene Certificate
- SEN experience or additional childcare training
- Experience supporting children with additional needs
