About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join the Kyubi Kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior chef who is eager to learn, develop their skills, and gain hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment.
As a Commis Chef, you will support the senior kitchen team with food preparation and day-to-day kitchen duties, while learning essential culinary techniques and maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
Support senior chefs with daily food preparation tasks
Follow recipes and instructions accurately
Maintain cleanliness and organisation across all work areas
Ensure food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards are followed at all times
Learn and develop core kitchen skills under the guidance of senior chefs
Key Duties
Assist with basic food preparation including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients
Help prepare simple dishes, garnishes, and sauces under supervision
Keep workstations, equipment, and utensils clean and sanitised
Support the kitchen team during service as required
Assist with stock rotation, labelling, and correct food storage
Carry out daily cleaning duties as directed
Report any equipment faults or food safety concerns to senior chefs
Health, Safety & Hygiene
Comply with all food hygiene, health & safety, and fire safety regulations
Maintain excellent personal hygiene standards
Assist with food safety documentation when required
