We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Early Years Practitioner and SENCO to join our vibrant childcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the development and wellbeing of young children, including those with special educational needs. Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
- Support children with special educational needs through tailored interventions, including applied behaviour analysis and behaviour management strategies.
- Collaborate with parents, carers, and external professionals such as speech therapists and tutors to develop personalised learning plans.
- Monitor and record children's progress, ensuring accurate documentation for assessments and reviews.
- Assist with the organisation of classroom resources and maintain a safe, stimulating environment conducive to learning.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff or trainees within the setting.
- Support toddlers’ care routines and supervise preschool activities, including physical education sessions.
- Proofread educational materials and communication documents to ensure clarity and accuracy.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of inclusive practices within the setting.
- Understand and is able to implement the graduated approach within the setting.
Qualifications
- Recognised qualification at Level 3 in Early Years Education.
- Experience working with children in early childhood settings, including preschool or toddler care.
- Knowledge of special education needs (SEN) and experience implementing tailored strategies such as applied behaviour analysis.
- Knowledge and understanding of the SEN Support/ EHCP application process.
- Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice.
- The ability to teach and educate staff on all things SEN.
- Willingness to learn how to apply for funding such as DAF and SENIF.
- Strong communication skills for effective liaison with children, parents, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team while demonstrating patience, organisation, and professionalism. Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
