Part-Time Cleaner – Retirement Living Complex
We are looking for an experienced, dependable and self-motivated cleaner to join our small, friendly cleaning business at Homeside House in Penarth.
This is an independent role that would suit someone who enjoys working alone, takes pride in maintaining high standards and is looking for a stable, long-term part-time position.
You will be solely responsible for maintaining the communal areas of the building, ensuring they remain consistently clean, safe and welcoming for residents and visitors.
As part of a small business, we are looking for someone who is reliable, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of their work without requiring close supervision.
Duties will include:
- Cleaning communal hallways, entrances and stairwells
- Cleaning the laundry room, communal kitchen and lounge areas
- Guest suite turnaround when required
- Emptying bins and disposing of waste
- Dusting, vacuuming, mopping and maintaining high standards throughout the building
- Following cleaning schedules and checklists
- Reporting any maintenance or health and safety concerns
You will work alongside the House Manager and maintain a professional, friendly and respectful approach when working around residents.
Hours & Shift Pattern
This is a 6-hour per week position, worked across three days:
- Monday: 9:30am – 11:30am (2 hours)
- Wednesday: 9:30am – 11:30am (2 hours)
- Friday: 9:30am – 11:30am (2 hours)
There is some flexibility around start and finish times for the right candidate, however the working days are fixed.
This role would suit someone seeking a consistent, long-term part-time position that can easily fit around other commitments.

- Previous cleaning experience (commercial, communal or residential preferred)
