Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer specialising in CNC processes to join our clients dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in manufacturing systems, with a focus on optimisation, quality assurance, and continuous improvement. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative manufacturing solutions within a fast-paced environment, supporting the development and optimisation of CNC machining operations and related processes.
Duties
· Program and re-tool a multitude of machine tool controls - CNC turning essential. CNC grinding & milling beneficial, along with a good understanding of fine finishing processes such as lapping & honing
· Provide training to setters and operators on machines/processes.
· Create related documentation of existing processes and implementation of new and existing innovations (drawings, SOP, work instructions etc)
· Plan & test product processes from enquiry into full production (NPI)
· Design & re-design tooling & product related equipment.
· Liaise with suppliers to optimise quality, tooling and machine performances.
· Assist in resolution of customer issues if they arise (8D)
· Work in cross functional teams to drive improvements, in productivity cost & quality. (CI)
· Identify suitable measurement methods for products
Role desirables
· Experience/ qualification in CAD package (AutoCAD, Fusion, Edgecam advantageous).
· Sliding head lathe programming & setting a must have
Person
The process engineer must be production aware in terms of output required against process reliability.
They must have the ability to work under pressure & achieve results that can be measured in cost & efficiency
They must react & apply logical methods to resolution of issues using data to ensure results
They are expected to use initiative at all times & question methods with a view to improvement
Be an effective communicator, reporting to all levels in terms of sharing knowledge & providing progress reports on tasks undertaken
Be self motivated & strive to achieve the best results in their work
This role will suit a skilled setter looking to further develop their skills into the engineering of processes & products
Pay: £40,000.00-£48,000.00 per year
