Registered Manager – Children’s Home (EBD)
Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 per year
Location: Reading
Zarona Care Residential Childrens Home is a therapeutic children’s home supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and complex needs. We are seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead our dedicated team and ensure the highest standards of care, compliance, and safeguarding.
Role Overview
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, management, and growth of the home. You will ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, maintain a safe and nurturing environment, and create a child-centred culture where young people can thrive emotionally, socially, and educationally.
Key Responsibilities
- Hold Ofsted registration and ensure full compliance with regulations and National Minimum Standards.
- Lead, supervise, and develop a skilled staff team.
- Oversee care planning, safeguarding, and risk management.
- Maintain high-quality records, reports, and audits.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, professionals, and external agencies.
- Ensure the home consistently meets good or outstanding inspection outcomes.
- Take responsibility for recruitment, rota management, and staff performance.
Requirements
- At least 2 years’ experience in a managerial role within a children’s residential setting.
- NVQ Level 5 in Leadership & Management (Children & Young People) – or working towards.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, and children’s residential care standards.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
- Full UK driving licence and enhanced DBS.
