Part-Time Sales Assistant – Canine Rescue Charity Shop

Location: Castle Douglas
Hours: 15 hours per week (flexible, including weekends)
Pay: Rate dependent on experience
Are you passionate about dogs and want to make a real difference? We are looking for a friendly and reliable Part-Time Sales Assistant to join our welcoming team at our canine rescue charity shop in Castle Douglas.
About the Role
As a key member of our shop team, you will help raise vital funds to support dogs in need. You’ll provide excellent customer service while creating a warm and inviting shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and helpful manner
- Operating the till and handling cash/card payments
- Sorting, pricing, and displaying donated items
- Maintaining a clean, tidy, and attractive shop environment
- Supporting the sharing of stock between other DGCRC charity shops
- Supporting the shop manager
- Supporting volunteers and working as part of a team
- Promoting the charity’s work and mission
About You
- Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
- Reliable, honest, and well-organised
- Comfortable working as part of a small team
- Previous retail experience is helpful but not essential
- A keen eye and an ability or interest in finding and valuing quality items or collectables
- A love of dogs and interest in animal welfare is a must!
