Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving and delivery, with a focus on safety and efficiency. This role involves transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of service. A good understanding of mechanical operations and warehouse experience will be advantageous. Due to insurance restrictions the candidate must be at least 23years old with a minimum of 2 years driving experience.
Responsibilities
- Operate vehicles safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of items during transport.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
- Assist with warehouse duties as needed, including inventory management and organisation of stock.
- Demonstrate knowledge of flatbed operations when required for specific deliveries.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driving licence with relevant endorsements for the vehicle type operated.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on vehicles.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with team members and clients effectively.
- Experience in warehouse operations is an advantage but not mandatory.
