Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting the Head Chef with daily kitchen operations, supervising food preparation, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during service, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to schedules
- Oversee food production, ensuring dishes are prepared to specification and presented attractively
- Lead food preparation activities, including cooking, garnishing, and plating of dishes
- Maintain strict compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor kitchen cleanliness and organisation throughout shifts
Qualifications
- Proven supervising experience within a busy kitchen environment
- Extensive food production and culinary experience, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff under pressure
- Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation standards
- Sound understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
- Previous experience in restaurant operations or similar hospitality roles is highly desirable
- Leadership qualities with the ability to oversee multiple tasks efficiently
- Good communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and management
- A passion for culinary excellence and delivering outstanding guest experiences
Pay: £13.50-£13.98 per hour
