Overview
Our client is seeking a motivated and practical Assistant Service Engineer to join their Permanent Perimeter Protection team. This role offers a clear development path with structured training toward becoming a fully qualified Service Engineer. What You’ll Do
- Assist Service Engineers with installation, servicing, and repair of permanent perimeter protection systems (fencing, gates, access control, barriers, and related security equipment).
- Support fault finding and diagnostics on mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive service work.
- Prepare and maintain tools, equipment, and materials for site work.
- Complete service documentation and reports accurately.
- Ensure all work is performed safely in line with HSEQ policies and procedures.
- Deliver a professional, customer-focused service on-site.
- Travel to customer locations across the region as required.
What We’re Looking For
- Practical, hands-on approach to work with good problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Full UK driving license.
- Basic mechanical or electrical understanding.
- Experience in engineering, maintenance, construction, or security systems is desirable but not required.
- Personal qualities: reliable, professional, positive attitude, flexible, adaptable, customer-focused, able to work both independently and in a team.
