Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled FLT Counterbalance Driver to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklift trucks to safely and efficiently handle materials, ensuring smooth warehouse operations. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of warehouse management systems and mechanical knowledge, committed to maintaining safety standards and supporting shipping and receiving activities.
Responsibilities
- Operate counterbalance forklift trucks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
- Manage stock levels by accurately moving goods to designated storage areas
- Assist with shipping and receiving procedures, ensuring proper documentation and handling of goods
- Conduct routine inspections and basic repairs on equipment to ensure operational safety and efficiency
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accordingly
- Support materials handling tasks, including lifting heavy loads safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members to optimise warehouse workflow and minimise downtime
Requirements
- Valid forklift licence for counterbalance trucks with proven experience in operating such equipment
- Prior experience in warehouse management systems, materials handling, shipping & receiving, and equipment repair is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic troubleshooting and repairs on equipment
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail when managing inventory records
- Basic maths skills for measuring, counting, and recording data accurately
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or moving within the warehouse environment
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
