About Brandon May Hair
Established in 2013, Brandon May Hair is a premium salon based in the heart of Didsbury, known for our strong colour work, bridal styling, and extension services. We cater to both men and women, and pride ourselves on an established, loyal client base built over more than a decade.
Our team is tight-knit and experienced — our most recent team member joined over a year ago — and we’re now looking to grow with the right person. Our mission is simple:

The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Hairdresser to join us on a 24.5-hour employed basis, working Tuesday 10:00–20:00, Friday 09:00–16:30, Saturday 09:00–17:00. This is a fully employed position — not chair rental — offering genuine security alongside real earning potential.
You’ll be confident across both cutting and colour, able to manage a busy column, and passionate about building long-term relationships with clients. We want someone who connects with people, communicates well, and takes pride in delivering consistently outstanding work.
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years’ salon floor experience as a qualified stylist
- Strong in both cutting and colour techniques
- Confident managing a busy column with great client retention
- Excellent communication and consultation skills
- NVQ Level 2 & 3 (or equivalent)
- Right to work in the United Kingdom
- Motivated to keep developing their craft in a professional environment
Pay & Earnings
We believe in rewarding strong performance transparently. Here’s how it works:
- You’ll receive a guaranteed minimum salary, giving you security from day one
- You’ll have a clear column target to work towards
- Once you hit your target, your earnings switch to 35% of your total column takings (ex VAT) — not just the excess, but your total
- As your column grows, your 35% will naturally and meaningfully exceed your basic
- 8% commission on retail sales — with no minimum target, so you earn from the very first product sold

This role is 24.5 hours per week across Tuesday, Friday & Saturday:
- Tuesday 10:00–20:00
- Friday 09:00–16:30
- Saturday 09:00–17:00

Probationary period: 4 months.
