Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Restaurant Chef to lead our culinary team and ensure the delivery of exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary skills, leadership qualities, and a passion for food preparation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, develop innovative menus, and maintain high standards of food safety and quality. Previous restaurant experience and supervising skills are essential for success in this position.
Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met
- Develop and update menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and control stock levels to minimise waste
- Train staff on cooking techniques, food safety procedures, and customer service standards
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service flow
- Monitor kitchen operations during service hours, resolving any issues promptly
- Assist in the recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of kitchen personnel
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a culinary role within a busy restaurant environment
- Supervising experience with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Strong skills in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
- Knowledge of kitchen safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant settings is highly desirable
- Good organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- A passion for culinary innovation and delivering high-quality dishes
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred but not essential
