We are recruiting on behalf of a Secondary School that prides themselves for their passion and inclusivity, in the heart of Ilkeston, Derbyshire. We are looking for a passionate Teaching Assistant to provide essential support to students with special educational needs, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other challenges. Responsibilities in the role as a Teaching Assistant:
- Student Support: Tailor assistance to meet the unique needs of students with special education requirements, ensuring their full participation in classroom activities.
- Individualised Education: Aid in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and conduct small group interventions to promote academic and social growth.
- Classroom Collaboration: Work closely with teachers to manage classroom behaviour, facilitate learning tasks, and offer targeted support as needed.
- Progress Tracking: Monitor and document student progress, identifying areas for improvement and acknowledging achievements.
- Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with parents, caregivers, and other professionals involved in students' education and well-being.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs, ADHD, ASD, or related challenges is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
