We are looking for an ambitious, proactive and detail-oriented Pre-Construction Assistant Manager to join our growing pre-construction team.

Key Responsibilities
Tender & Opportunity Support
- Review tender portals daily and identify suitable opportunities aligned with business strategy
- Maintain and update opportunity trackers, bid registers and pipeline reports
- Assist with initial tender reviews and document analysis
- Support go/no-go decision-making processes
- Coordinate Expressions of Interest (EOIs), pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and selection questionnaires (SQs)
- Manage tender documentation and distribution to relevant stakeholders
- Ensure all tender activities are completed within required timescales
Pre-Construction Coordination
- Arrange and attend tender launch meetings, progress reviews and site visits
- Prepare meeting agendas, minutes and action trackers
- Coordinate information between estimators, planners, bid writers, design managers and project teams
- Monitor tender programmes and key milestones
- Support the preparation and submission of compliant tender documents
- Ensure all clarifications and client communications are recorded and tracked
- Maintain organised electronic filing systems and document control procedures
Risk & Technical Review
- Review drawings, specifications, schedules and contract documents
- Assist in identifying construction, commercial, programme and procurement risks
- Support the development and maintenance of risk registers
- Monitor tender assumptions, exclusions and qualifications
- Identify inconsistencies or missing information within tender documentation
- Assist with buildability and logistics reviews
- Escalate key risks and issues to senior team members in a timely manner
Quality Submission Support
- Assist bid writers with drafting, reviewing and editing quality responses
- Coordinate supporting evidence, case studies, CVs and project examples
- Support the production of presentations, interview materials and submission documents
- Ensure submissions are visually consistent and aligned with company branding
- Check all submissions for compliance with client requirements
- Coordinate final reviews and approval processes prior to submission
Supply Chain & Commercial Support
- Support estimators in engaging with subcontractors and suppliers
- Assist with issuing enquiries and tracking supply chain responses
- Maintain subcontractor and supplier databases
- Support value engineering and buildability workshops
- Assist with commercial reviews, benchmarking and market testing
- Monitor supply chain engagement levels and identify opportunities for improvement
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop professional relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners
- Attend client meetings where appropriate
- Support the preparation of presentations and pre-construction proposals
- Demonstrate a customer-focused approach throughout all interactions
- Represent the business professionally at all times
Systems & Process Management
- Maintain accurate records within company CRM, portal and document management systems
- Ensure bid information, lessons learned and project data are captured and shared
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the pre-construction function
- Assist with the development of templates, standard operating procedures and best practice guides

Preferred Experience & Qualifications
Essential
- Previous experience within the construction industry
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
- Experience in site management, project management, contracts management, estimating, surveying or bid coordination
- Experience using common construction portals and document management systems
- Understanding of procurement routes and construction contracts
- Knowledge of JCT, NEC or other standard forms of contract
Qualifications
- HNC, HND or Degree in:
- Quantity Surveying
- Construction Management
- Construction Project Management
- Building Surveying
- Architecture
- Or a similar construction-related discipline
- Full UK driving licence preferred
