We are looking for a motivated and experienced Team Leader LGV Driver to join our Waste & Recycling service. This is a hands-on, frontline role where you will drive LGV vehicles, lead a small operational crew, and ensure the safe and efficient delivery of waste and recycling collections across the district.
Key Responsibilities
Drive and operate LGV vehicles and associated equipment safely and efficiently
Lead and supervise a small crew on allocated routes
Carry out waste and recycling collections safely
Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations
Conduct vehicle checks and complete reports
Respond to operational issues and escalate where necessary
Promote teamwork and good communication
Support service improvements
About You
Experienced LGV driver with leadership ability
Strong health & safety awareness
Reliable and proactive
Good communication skills
Flexible and adaptable
Essential Requirements
LGV (Category C) licence
Driver CPC
Experience operating LGV vehicles
Ability to supervise and lead a team
Understanding of health & safety
Able to carry out physical outdoor work
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience in waste and recycling
Plant operation (forklift, loading shovel, telehandler)
Basic IT skills
Working Environment
This is a physically demanding outdoor role involving manual handling, working in all weather conditions, and exposure to noise, odours and busy public environments.
