Overview
We are a dedicated rescue dog charity committed to providing abandoned, neglected, and unwanted working breeds with the care, rehabilitation, and second chance they deserve. We are seeking a compassionate, organised, and experienced Kennel Manager to lead our kennel operations and ensure the highest standards of animal welfare.
The Role
As Kennel Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our rescue kennels, overseeing the care and wellbeing of all dogs within our facility. You will lead a team of kennel staff and volunteers, ensuring that every dog receives excellent care while supporting their journey towards a successful rehoming.
This role requires the candidate to live on site.
Accommodation suitable for a single person or couple.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of the kennels and ensure compliance with all welfare standards and licensing requirements.
- Lead, motivate, and support kennel staff and volunteers.
- Monitor the health, behaviour, and welfare of all dogs in our care.
- Develop and implement enrichment and rehabilitation programmes.
- Maintain accurate records relating to dog welfare, medication, admissions, and rehoming.
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness, biosecurity, and health and safety throughout the facility.
- Assist with assessments, admissions, and rehoming processes where required.
- Manage kennel supplies, equipment, and budgets effectively.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience managing a kennel, rescue centre, boarding facility, or similar animal welfare environment.
- A strong understanding of canine behaviour, welfare, and handling.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- The ability to work calmly and effectively in a busy, emotionally rewarding environment.
- Experience supervising staff and volunteers.
- Good IT and record-keeping skills.
- A full UK driving licence is required.

Pay: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
