Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dispenser to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately dispensing medications, supporting patient care, and ensuring compliance with pharmacy regulations. Duties
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications in accordance with doctors' prescriptions and pharmacy protocols
- Prepare and label medication containers with precision to ensure patient safety
- Assist with medication administration under supervision, ensuring correct dosages and timing
- Provide support to patients by answering questions related to their medications and usage instructions
- Maintain meticulous records of dispensed medications and patient interactions
- Support Dispensary staff in inventory management, including stock checks and ordering supplies
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including proper storage of medicines and cleanliness of the dispensing area
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Dispenser or in a similar role is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to prevent errors in dispensing medication
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in pharmacy NVQ2 are essential
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory standards
