A Fish and Chip Shop Fryer is responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving food while maintaining strict hygiene standards. Key duties include frying fish and chips, managing stock, operating the till, cleaning workstations, and delivering high-quality customer service in a fast-paced environment, often working evenings and weekends. Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Food Preparation & Cooking: Preparing batter, cutting chips, and frying food items (fish, pies, sausages) to high-quality standards.
- Customer Service: Greeting guests warmly, taking orders accurately (in-person/phone), and serving food efficiently.
- Hygiene & Cleanliness: Maintaining a spotless work area, including cleaning fryers, sweeping floors, and ensuring health and safety regulations are met.
- Stock Management: Unpacking deliveries, monitoring stock levels, rotating stock, and assisting with orders.
- Till Operation: Handling cash and card transactions accurately.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in fast food or customer service is a plus, but not always required for assistant roles.
- Attributes: Positive, friendly attitude, ability to work under pressure, and strong team player.
- Skills: Good communication skills and basic math skills for handling transactions.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
