Summary
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Outstanding school as a Literacy Intervention Teaching Assistant.
The role will focus on literacy interventions and supporting pupils in all year groups to achieve their potential whilst encouraging a love for learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted literacy interventions to identified pupils in small groups and on a one-to-one basis
- Create an encouraging and inclusive atmosphere that nurtures self-confidence and a positive approach to learning.
- Support pupils to develop reading fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, spelling and handwriting skills.
- Create an encouraging an inclusive atmosphere that nurtures self-confidence and a positive approach to learning.
- Monitor pupils progress and maintain accurate records to assess and evaluate the impact of interventions.
- Liaise effectively with staff, pupils and parents/carers where appropriate.
- Support with the day-to-day organisation, management and development of the school library.
- Promote reading for pleasure and encourage a lifelong love of reading across the school.
- Support reading events, competitions, author visits, book fairs and other literacy enrichment activities.

This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro rata basis.

Desirable Qualifications
- NVQ level 2 or above qualification (or equivalent)
- Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy

- Experience of Administrative work Experience of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
