Altrincham Preparatory School is a successful and thriving independent preparatory day school in the heart of Trafford. It is an all-boys school with approximately 250 pupils aged 2 to 11. Established in 1936, the School is proud of its heritage and long-standing reputation for academic excellence, pastoral care and a broad, enriching education.
We care deeply about each individual boy and pride ourselves on the warmth and strength of our community. Our pupils feel valued, supported and challenged, and we expect the highest standards in all aspects of school life. Boys are encouraged to develop self-awareness, confidence in their own abilities, resilience and independence of thought, and to be strong enough to stand up not only for themselves but also for others and for a greater purpose.
The School’s most important resource in delivering its commitment to all-round excellence is its teaching staff. Teachers are at the core of everything we do. We seek individuals who value and champion the best outcomes for pupils, who are first-rate, creative and engaging practitioners, and who bring passion, whether academic or beyond the classroom, that they are keen to share. We are particularly interested in teachers with the drive and ambition to make a meaningful difference, to build their professional reputation, and to make a lasting contribution to school life.
We are currently seeking to appoint a Key Stage 2 Teacher on a fixed term contract from 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified, imaginative and committed teacher who can work with equal effectiveness independently and as part of a collaborative team.
If you feel that your values align with those of Altrincham Preparatory School and that you possess the attributes required for this role, we would be delighted to hear from you.

The closing date for applications is 10am on Monday 8 June 2026. Interviews will take place on Thursday 11 June 2026. If applicants have not been contacted by this date, they may assume that their application has been unsuccessful.
Altrincham Preparatory School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment.
