My client in the Loughborough area require x 2 Mechanical Fiiters.
Duties of the Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling and fitting acoustic canopies and associated components to a high standard of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and fit acoustic canopies for generators and industrial equipment
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, layout diagrams, and technical specifications
- Install panels, brackets, doors, silencers, ventilation systems, and other mechanical components
- Carry out drilling, tapping, cutting, and general fabrication activities
- Align and fit components to ensure structural integrity and acoustic performance
- Work with insulation materials and acoustic treatments
- Conduct quality checks throughout the build process and complete final inspections
- Work closely with fabrication, welding, and electrical teams
- Identify and resolve build issues efficiently
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work area
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter within manufacturing, fabrication, enclosures, or industrial equipment environments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Competent using hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery
- Experience working with sheet metal, structural frames, or mechanical assemblies
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good understanding of health and safety within a workshop environment
