Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Warehouse Operative with forklift driving skills to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing materials, operating warehouse equipment, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within our facility. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience who are keen to develop their skills in a dynamic environment. The position involves handling heavy loads, maintaining safety standards, and supporting shipping and receiving operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse
- Manage stock levels using the warehouse management system (WMS) and ensure accurate inventory records
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, including checking deliveries and preparing items for dispatch
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper storage and organisation of goods
- Conduct basic equipment repairs or report faults to maintenance teams promptly
- Perform manual handling tasks, including heavy lifting, in accordance with health and safety guidelines
- Support warehouse organisation by maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of work areas
- Assist in stocktaking activities and ensure accurate documentation of all movements
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations and materials handling
- Valid forklift licence with experience operating various types of forklifts
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) is highly desirable
- Mechanical aptitude for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for inventory management
- Basic mathematical skills for counting, measuring, and recording data accurately
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily tasks
- Good understanding of shipping & receiving procedures
- Mechanical knowledge beneficial for equipment maintenance tasks
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Pay: £13.00-£17.32 per hour
