Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our busy food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a background in food production, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth operation and high-quality service
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and serving processes to meet company standards and customer expectations
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Enforce food safety and hygiene regulations in accordance with legal requirements and company policies
- Provide training and guidance to team members on food handling, safety procedures, and customer service techniques
- Address customer concerns promptly and professionally to maintain satisfaction
- Monitor staff performance, provide feedback, and support professional development
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and service areas at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, serving, or related hospitality roles
- Previous management or supervising experience within a restaurant or kitchen environment
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and organise a team effectively
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food preparation and hygiene
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle challenging situations diplomatically
- Experience in restaurant operations or culinary environments is highly desirable
- Barista experience is advantageous but not essential
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and organisational skills
- Flexibility to work during peak hours, including evenings and weekends as required
