Valley Gas Speed Shop is a thriving, family-run workshop with nearly 20 years of experience in building bespoke vehicles and restoring classic American and British cars. We pride ourselves on delivering a highly personalised service to every customer, which makes this a varied and hands-on role at the heart of our business.
We’re looking for a highly organised, motivated individual with a passion for the automotive industry, ideally classic cars who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys being part of a close-knit team.
This is not just an admin role. We want someone who is keen to learn, get involved in all areas of the business, and become a valued part of the workshop.
Key Responsibilities
- Front of house: meeting and greeting customers
- Handling phone calls and responding to email enquiries
- Diary management and planning workload alongside the Director
- Preparing estimates, pricing, and providing regular customer updates
- Invoicing for ongoing work and external orders
- Managing stock: ordering, receiving, tracking, and allocating parts from global suppliers
- Booking vehicles in and out, taking deposits, and completing condition checks
- Taking progress photos and updating customers
- Selling parts via online platforms and forums
- Creating monthly adverts for magazines (Word-based, with creative input encouraged)
- Planning and coordinating trade show exhibitions
- Managing social media, marketing, and website updates (training provided)
- Supporting workshop operations: tracking team hours, monitoring job progress, and ensuring parts are logged correctly
About You
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confident communicator with excellent customer service skills
- Comfortable working under pressure in a busy environment
- Proactive, hardworking, and able to work independently
- A good sense of humour and team-focused attitude
- Interest in cars (especially classic vehicles) is highly desirable
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a similar role required
- Confident using:
- Excel, Word, Outlook
- eBay, Facebook, Instagram
- QuickBooks experience is advantageous (training provided if needed)
Working Hours
- Monday – Thursday: 08:30 – 17:30
- Friday: 09:00 – 16:00
- Alternate Saturdays: 09:00 – 13:00 (paid at a higher rate)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From £28,500.00 per year
