We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our children's residential home, supporting young people aged [insert age range] with emotional and behavioural needs. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care, guidance, and support while assisting the management team in the day-to-day running of the home.
Work Schedule
This role operates on a 2-on, 4-off shift pattern, providing an excellent work-life balance.
- Includes overnight sleep-in shifts
- Overtime opportunities may be available
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for children and young people.
- Act as a positive role model and support young people in achieving their personal goals.
- Lead shifts and support junior staff members.
- Assist in implementing and reviewing care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies.
- Promote education, independence, life skills, and emotional wellbeing.
- Build positive relationships with families, social workers, schools, and external professionals.
- Maintain accurate records and reports in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and supervision sessions.
Requirements
- Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards it.
- Previous experience working within a children's residential setting.
- Experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
- Enhanced DBS check required.
