Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about the hospitality industry and eager to develop their skills within a professional kitchen environment. The successful candidate will support the smooth operation of the kitchen by ensuring cleanliness, organisation, and basic food preparation. Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering setting is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Duties
- Responsible for washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to maintain hygiene standards.
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and organising ingredients under supervision.
- Supporting the kitchen team with general cleaning duties including floors, work surfaces, and storage areas to ensure a safe and tidy environment.
- Assisting with the organisation of stock and supplies to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Helping with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Supporting serving staff during busy periods by providing necessary items and maintaining cleanliness in dining areas when required.
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with food preparation and cooking processes is beneficial.
- Experience working in a busy kitchen or catering setting will be considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards within a culinary context is preferred but training will be provided for suitable candidates eager to learn.
- A positive attitude, willingness to work as part of a team, and good organisational skills are essential qualities for success in this role.
