Happy Dumplings is an exciting new addition to Edinburgh’s vibrant street food community. We bring authentic Chinese dumplings from cherished family recipes, serving up flavourful bites that are quickly becoming local favourites! As we expand our team at the Neighbourgood Market in Stockbridge (EH4 1HQ), we are looking for dedicated, outgoing team members to help us make every customer’s experience memorable.
About the Role
- Location: Neighbourgood Market, Stockbridge, Edinburgh, EH4 1HQ
- Contract: May – August, with more shifts available for other events including Edinburgh Fringe 5th – 31 Aug & Edinburgh Summer Sessions 21st – 29th August, Christmas.
- Hours: Flexible shifts from Wednesday to Sunday 10am-11pm (we can arrange hours to fit your availability within these days)
- Pay: Starting at £13.50 per hour (£15.13 including holiday pay) with potential to increase with performance.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and cook our delicious dumplings fresh to order
- Greet customers and take orders with a friendly, positive attitude
- Run the stall’s front of house: serve food, process payments, and keep the area welcoming
- Support the owner with daily tasks and help create a fun, efficient environment
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety throughout every shift
Who We’re Looking For
- Someone energetic, approachable, and genuinely passionate about food and customer service
- No experience is necessary – just a willingness to learn and deliver great service
- Great communication skills and the ability to work as part of a small, close-knit team
- Reliable, proactive, and able to take initiative, whether you’re serving or cooking
- Experience in hospitality, kitchens or food markets is a bonus, but not required
