Support Worker – Children’s Residential Care
Location: Barnston, Essex
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £13.00 – £15.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 37 hours per week
Shift Pattern: 24-hour shifts on a 2 on / 4 off rota
Sleep-In Allowance: £50 per night
We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our team and make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people.
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can grow, heal, and thrive. You'll work directly with young people, supporting them with their day-to-day needs and helping them build confidence, resilience, and essential life skills.
About the Role:
- Working 24-hour shifts, including some weekends
- Supporting children with emotional, social, and behavioural needs
- Promoting independence and safeguarding at all times
- Contributing to care planning, keyworking, and daily reports
- Driving children to and from appointments and activities
Requirements:
- Strong spoken and written English skills – essential for communicating with children, completing logs and reports, and working with external professionals
- A calm, patient, and compassionate approach
- Ability to reliably commute to Barnston or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
- Full UK Driving Licence (required)
