Rane Bengal is a modern Indian restaurant dedicated to delivering authentic Indian cuisine, outstanding customer service, and a memorable dining experience. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chef to join our growing kitchen team in Swansea.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a wide range of authentic Indian dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Specialise in traditional and contemporary Indian cuisine, including curries, biryanis, tandoori dishes, and regional specialities.
- Ensure excellent food quality, presentation, and consistency.
- Assist in developing new menu items and seasonal dishes.
- Maintain portion control and minimise food waste.
- Ensure full compliance with food hygiene, allergen, health, and safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen and food preparation areas.
- Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management.
- Work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods.
- Support and train junior kitchen staff where appropriate.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a Chef in an Indian restaurant.
- Good knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking methods.
- Understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Commitment to maintaining high culinary standards.
Desirable Qualifications
- Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Relevant culinary qualifications or professional training.
- Experience in menu planning and kitchen supervision.
