Customer Service Assistant - Inverness

The Role...
As a Customer Service Assistant, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the garden centre by helping customers, coordinating orders and assisting with general administration at the customer service desk. This is a varied role combining customer service, retail support and office tasks to help keep the centre organised, welcoming and running smoothly, particularly during our busy spring and summer season.
You will play an important part in ensuring customers receive friendly, efficient service while supporting the wider team with sales, bookings and daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcoming and assisting customers at the customer service desk
- Answering phone enquiries and responding to emails
- Processing customer orders and bookings for activities
- Booking in deliveries and coordinating incoming goods
- Organising returns to suppliers
- Supporting sales of garden products including sheds and furniture
- Operating tills and preparing change when required
- Maintaining point-of-sale (POS) materials and signage
- Updating internal information boards and the garden centre diary
- Ordering printer consumables and maintaining office supplies
- Photocopying, scanning and general administrative support
- Signing in visitors and contractors
- General day-to-day support across the garden centre

- Attention to detail and good standards of presentation
- Basic computer skills and confidence using point-of-sale systems
- Interest in gardening, plants or retail (desirable but not essential)
- Enjoys working both indoors and outdoors
