Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Vehicle Recovery Driver to join our evening team. Operational hours 15:00-23:00.
The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting and recovering vehicles, ensuring efficient operations across various locations. This role requires a professional approach, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle vehicle recovery tasks with care and precision. Responsibilities
- Safely operate recovery vehicles, including flatbed lorries and other specialised transport equipment.
- Recover, tow, and transport vehicles from accident sites, breakdowns, or storage facilities.
- Conduct routine inspections of recovery vehicles to ensure they are in optimal condition.
- Communicate effectively with clients, dispatch teams, and other stakeholders regarding vehicle status and recovery progress.
- Maintain accurate records of recoveries performed and vehicle movements.
- Follow all safety protocols and legal requirements during vehicle recovery operations.
- Assist with loading and securing vehicles onto recovery trucks using mechanical knowledge and appropriate equipment.
- Ensure the work area is kept organised and compliant with health and safety standards.
Requirements
- Valid CPC & Class 2 or 7.5t entitlement driver licence with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, delivery driving, or vehicle recovery roles.
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle systems and recovery equipment.
- Experience operating flatbed trucks or specialised recovery vehicles such as lorries or tow trucks.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with logistics is advantageous.
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting and manoeuvring vehicles safely.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple recoveries efficiently.
