As part of our ongoing commitment to health, safety, and environmental excellence, we are looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and develop our H&S function across the business.
The Role
Reporting directly to senior management, the Health & Safety Manager will take ownership of all health and safety matters across the site, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation and promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is confident operating on the shop floor as well as at management level.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain Health & Safety policies, procedures, and systems
- Ensure compliance with all relevant UK Health & Safety legislation and standards
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections across the site
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing reports and corrective actions
- Lead toolbox talks, safety briefings, and employee training
- Act as the main point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors
- Monitor performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement
- Support management in fostering a proactive and engaged safety culture
About You
- Proven experience in a Health & Safety role within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) – essential
- Strong working knowledge of UK H&S legislation
- Confident communicator able to engage with employees at all levels
- Practical, proactive, and solutions-focused approach
- Strong organisational and reporting skills
Desirable:
- NEBOSH Diploma
- Experience managing ISO standards (e.g. ISO 45001)
- Environmental or quality system experience
