Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Production Manager specialised in Steel Fabrication to oversee manufacturing operations, optimise processes, and ensure the delivery of high-quality products. Duties
- Manage daily production activities within the steel fabrication plant, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality specifications.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of materials and resources.
- Utilise SAP and ERP systems to plan, monitor, and optimise production schedules, inventory levels, and workflow.
- Lead process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing product quality through continuous improvement methodologies.
- Oversee quality control procedures to maintain compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Supervise assembly operations, ensuring proper sequencing and adherence to technical specifications.
- Develop and implement strategies for process optimisation, equipment maintenance, and staff training programmes.
- Analyse production data to identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies and formulate corrective actions.
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and professional development within the manufacturing team.
Experience
- Proven experience in a managerial role within steel fabrication or heavy manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems utilised in manufacturing settings.
- Demonstrable expertise in supply chain management, process optimisation, and continuous improvement techniques such as Lean or Six Sigma.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to steel fabrication processes including welding, assembly, and equipment maintenance.
- Experience implementing quality control procedures aligned with industry standards.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies aimed at increasing productivity while maintaining safety standards.
- Previous leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment is highly desirable.
