Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to oversee our residential children's home. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and leading a team of care professionals. Our Children's home accommodates and cares for those age 7-17.
This position is a 40hr working week with additional on call on a rota basis which adheres to the needs of the young people.
Duties
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the residential care home for children, ensuring the highest standards of care are maintained.
- Develop, implement, and review personalised care plans tailored to each child's individual needs, including specialised support for those with dementia or complex behavioural requirements.
- Supervise and support staff, fostering a positive team environment through effective leadership and management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and organisational policies relating to children's residential care.
- Oversee medication administration, health & safety procedures, and safeguarding protocols to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all residents.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records in line with regulatory requirements.
- To Develop and maintain pro-active working relationships with the regulators.
Qualifications
Level 4 or 5 diploma in leadership for Health and Social Care Services or equivalent.
Skills
- Proven experience of working in a management or supervisory role in an LD residential care service
- Strong leadership skills with previous supervising experience in a care home or similar setting. (min 1 year)
- Knowledge of regulated frameworks for children's residential services and quality standards
- Competence in developing and implementing comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage staff rotas, budgets, and compliance documentation effectively.
- Sound understanding of safeguarding practices.
- Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills to engage effectively with children, families, staff, and external professionals.
- Ability to lead by example while fostering a caring environment that promotes dignity and respect for residents.
