Opportunity:
Our client is a family operated, national and international transport company operating primarily in the construction, retail and manufacturing industries that distributes an extensive range of commodities including construction products, agricultural products, electrical goods and food and drink products as well as being a proud partner of TPN (The Pallet Network). You will be responsible for delivery of palletised goods to customers throughout the South Yorkshire area and will be responsible for offloading pallets using a tail lift and electric pump truck. Night Trunking also available where drivers will be required to do a trunk run to a TPN RDC and back to the depot.
Duties Will Include:
- Daily pre vehicle checks and reporting any defects and if required leasing with the transport office to have the defects rectified.
- You will be responsible for the vehicle and its load at all times.
- You will be responsible for offloading pallets using a tail lift and electric pump truck or open a curtain and wait to be unloaded
- You will be required to obtain signatures for deliveries and retain the POD accordingly.
- Night trunking also available completing trunk runs to a TPN NDC in either Preston or Swadlingcote
- All vehicles are monitored as such you will be expected to adhere to Safe and efficient driving practices at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
- You will have a Full UK Driving with a Minimum CE Entitlement
- You will have a valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- You will have held your licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points
- You will possess excellent customer service and communication skills
Hours of Work:
Working hours are Monday to Friday with start times being 0700 each day
Night trunking is Monday to Friday starting at 1800
Rate of Pay:
Pay is £19.00 per hour (holiday pay included)
