Overview
We are seeking a motivated and approachable Health Navigator (Receptionist) to join our friendly and supportive team. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, work well as part of a team, and enjoy working with the general public. You will need to be adaptable, organised, and responsive to patients’ individual needs, helping to ensure they are supported and directed to the most appropriate service in a safe and timely manner.

Hours : 16 hours per week - Monday, Thursday PM & Friday AM.

Duties
- Answering a high volume of telephone calls in a professional and empathetic manner
- Working on the front desk, welcoming patients and visitors, and managing queries in person
- Navigating patients to the most appropriate service for their symptoms, using an approved care navigation system and practice protocols
- Managing and responding to the most appropriate services for their symptoms.
- Signposting patients to relevant services such as GP appointments, nurses, pharmacists, community services, PCN services, and external providers
- Booking, amending, and cancelling appointments
- Handling general enquiries (in line with practice procedures)
- Managing incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Registering new patients and updating patient records accurately
- Carrying out general administrative duties to support the smooth running of the practice
- Supporting clinicians and the wider administrative team
- Maintaining patient confidentiality at all times
- Helping to manage workflow during busy periods and contributing to a calm, supportive environment
Experience
- Previous experience in a GP practice, healthcare, or customer service role is desirable but not essential
- Experience working in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Experience dealing with the public, either face-to-face, by telephone, or online
- Confidence using computer systems and online platforms
- Experience handling confidential information appropriately
Full training will be provided, including care navigation systems and practice procedures.
