Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our hospitality team. This role is vital in maintaining a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen environment to support our culinary operations. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and eager to contribute to a smooth-running kitchen in a fast-paced setting. Previous experience in food preparation or hospitality is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure cleanliness standards are met
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment throughout the shift
- Organising storage areas and ensuring all items are stored correctly
- Supporting chefs and kitchen staff with various duties as required
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures efficiently
- Restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or culinary environment is desirable but not mandatory
- Familiarity with food preparation, cooking, or serving roles within hospitality settings is advantageous
- Experience working in a busy kitchen or restaurant environment will be considered a plus
- A positive attitude towards teamwork and willingness to learn new skills is essential
