Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of our bar and hospitality establishment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food and beverage service, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves supervising staff, managing inventory, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and maintaining a welcoming environment for guests. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise bar staff, including bartenders, servers, and kitchen personnel, fostering a motivated and efficient team.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes related to bar menu items, ensuring quality standards are met consistently.
- Manage daily operations of the bar, including opening and closing procedures, stock control, and maintaining cleanliness standards in line with food safety regulations.
- Develop and update beverage menus, incorporating current trends while ensuring profitability.
- Ensure excellent customer service by engaging with guests, addressing complaints promptly, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Monitor compliance with licensing laws, health & safety regulations, and food safety standards across all operations.
- Organise staff schedules to optimise coverage during peak hours while maintaining labour costs.
- Conduct regular training sessions on food production, serving techniques, hygiene practices, and hospitality standards.
- Collaborate with suppliers to order stock efficiently and manage inventory levels effectively.
Requirements
- Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality management with a focus on bars or food service environments.
- Strong supervisory experience with demonstrated team management skills.
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary practices relevant to bar menus.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations within the hospitality industry.
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork.
- Experience in managing restaurant or hotel operations is highly desirable.
- Competence in handling food production processes alongside serving responsibilities.
- Previous experience working as a barista or in hospitality roles such as serving or kitchen work is advantageous.
- Exceptional organisational skills coupled with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
